Weapons for your Key Ring

1 of 70+ Articles here at SDS

Kubotan key ring and Wild Cat Key Chains. What are they, what do they look like? Why an attacker probably won't know you have a weapon, and why your friends shouldn't know either.

Key chains or key rings, whatever you call them, they do the same thing… hold your keys together. Keys can make very powerful weapons! The idea of using your keys as a weapon, should not be taken lightly!

Keys are pointy, thin, and lightweight enough to be moved around with ease. Moreover, you probably rarely leave home without them. So there is a good chance you will have them with you, and ready to use, during an attack.

If you have the biggest key (car key maybe) in your hand, as if you are about to open a door with it, and you enclose the remaining keys in your hand, you will make it very hard for an attacker to take them from you (disarm you).

If an attacker can't get your weapon from you, he can't use it on you.

Keys, weapons, and the law

In the eyes of the law, keys will never be seen as weapons, because they are not. If the result of an attack, where you use your keys to defend yourself, ends up in court, using keys rather than a gun or knife will look better for you.

Using a pen

A pen can also be used. A pen is longer than a key and you can grip it more firmly. It is not as strong as a key, so be sure to use only straight in-and-out movements or it may break.

Two nasty self-defense products

You can take this "using keys and pens as weapons" idea a step further if you wish. There are a couple of self-defense products available that you may be interested in. Take a look at them and read an article…

Kubotan key chains

If you don't know what a Kubotan is then below is a link to a an article entitled: "A FISTFUL OF DYNAMITE: the Kubotan…" you will find it interesting. Take a look:

Wild Cat Key Chain

The Wild Cat Key Chain looks like a toy or some kind of gimmicky souvenir and not like a weapon. This is a good thing, because it's best that no-one knows you are carrying a weapon, especially an attacker.

Why?

Because if an attacker knows you have a weapon, he will either leave you alone (which is a good thing of course) or make taking your weapon from you as a part of his surprise plan. If he gets it, he will probably use it on you!

It is also better that your friends don't know you carry a weapon, simply because friends sometimes become enemies and you may one day need to use it on them. If they know about it, they will try to take it from you before they attack.

Take a look at The Wild Cat Key Chain. Once again, a picture will tell the story. Be sure to note the two ways it can be held.

Nasty looking things, aren't they?

Conclusion

Keys and pens can make very powerful weapons. You can also connect a Kubotan to your key ring… they are even more powerful than a key or pen. The Wild Cat Key Chain looks like a toy, but when placed into the hands of someone prepared to use it, it can make a nasty weapon.
