We are going to look at why abductors take people. Why they don’t want any witnesses; how to safeguard yourself against being taken, and we will also look at a few valuable tips and tricks. First…
Everything we do is either for money or for sex… think about it!
If someone tries to abduct you, it will be to get money or sex. There may be other reasons, but if you are abducted, just assume that it will be for one of the above two reasons.
Now, if you don’t have much money, and especially if you are a girl (you know what I’m about to say), you can safely assume that an abductor is after your body to use for sex.
Men! Don’t stop reading, because you are not in the clear. It COULD happen to you too, so read on!
You can also assume that if you are abducted - you are going to be killed!
Abductor "No Witnesses" policy
A common thief tries to steal without being seen. An abductor will go to great lengths in order to remain unseen. A witness to an abduction can put the abductor in jail. An abducted person (potentially you) who survives, can also put an abductor in jail.
So it is clear that, to stay out of jail, an abductor MUST have either no witnesses, or dead witnesses.
Again… you can assume that if you are abducted - you are going to be killed.
How to NOT get abducted
Throughout this Self-Defense Now website, you will come across articles or parts of articles that look at ways to make yourself appear less attractive to an attacker/abductor.
Assuming that a person looking for someone to abduct does NOT know you, the following anti-abduction information will be helpful…
Probably the most important thing to do is, appear confident when you are walking in public. If an abductor sees a strong looking confident you, he will quickly judge you as such, and simply think, "Next." Look around and notice the people who are in your surroundings.
Learn to trust your instincts or gut feelings. If a situation does not feel right to you, act upon those feelings and quickly change the situation.
A little trick
If you do spot someone who you think may be following you, and you are close to people, walk up to someone, then say and do this: "Excuse me! (Have them turn and look in the direction of the suspect person.) You then point in the direction of Mr. Suss and say something like, "Is there a bus stop over there?"
By talking to someone and pointing in the direction of Mr. Suss, you are making him think that you know he is watching you, and you now have a witness, if anything were to happen (remember the "No Witnesses" policy explained above).
A few more tips and tricks
Try to get into a habit of noticing cars that slow down or stop beside you. You should also note anyone who passes you in a car or van more than once. They may be trying to time a pickup, or may be watching you and waiting until you get to an area where an abduction can take place... in accordance with the "No Witnesses" policy.
When you are out walking on the streets, try walking and facing oncoming traffic. By doing this, you will make it much more difficult for someone to drag you into their car or van. It will also reduce the ability of an abductor to use the element of surprise on you.
If someone asks you for directions, keep your distance, and look around for their partner in crime. One distracts, then they both attack. Or, one drives while the other gets you close enough to their car/van to grab you and drag you inside.
If you are approached by someone in a car, and you decide to make a run for safety. Run in the opposite direction to that which the car has been traveling - especially if there is just one person in the car/van.
Why? Because if he wants to catch up with you, he will have to turn the car around, go past you, then turn the car around again. While doing this, he may run into problems with his "No Witnesses" policy.
Conclusion
Remember that an abductor wants you for either money or sex. You should assume that he plans to kill you. When in public, try to look as if you are going somewhere and you are full of confidence. This tells an abductor that taking you may be too risky, so he will move on to someone else. If someone is watching or following you, get a witness!
