If you are attacked, will losing be an option for you? . If you have to fight, will you fight to win, or will you be prepared to lose? My definition of not losing a fight, which may surprise you, and what is the right fighting attitude.
During times of war, there have been many battles won by the underdog. Small army’s or small groups of people have won battles and wars when they were clearly out numbered. Why? Will to win!
I know of one case where if this particular army did not win the war, their people would have been wiped off the face of the earth. Losing was not an option. If you are attacked, will losing be an option for you?
You need to think about winning and losing. If you have to fight, will you fight to win, or will you be prepared to lose?
Let’s take a look at what losing is not:
Defusing a situation by telling someone they are right, even if they are not: "Yes you are right… sorry."
-
Running away.
-
Getting hit a few times before being able to escape.
-
Getting badly beaten, but fighting back. You hurt the attacker enough to force him to leave you alone.
You may be surprised by my definition of NOT losing. If you accept my view of what losing is not, you will make losing a fight, highly unlikely. If you are not killed, not disabled, and if you are not mentally handicapped as a result of being attacked… you win! You did the right thing!
A street fight is like a car crash. If you can walk /run away, be happy!
You may decide that if you are attacked, you will defend yourself with a "losing is not an option" attitude. If you can accept that while defending yourself, you may get hurt. You will have the right fighting attitude.
"If I am forced to fight, I will fight with all my might. If I get hurt before I depart, but not disabled or dead as a doornail… I will prevail!"
Here is a saying that rings true!
It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog that counts.
Just remember that if your attacker is bigger than you, you can beat him if you really want to or have to. It is the size of the fight in you that counts.
